Description
We have sold consecutive vintages of this delicious Banyuls for as long as we can remember. A blend of 90% Grenache and 10% Carignan, this lovely elixir is everything one would want in a Banyuls with just the right amount of sweet, lip-smacking dark red fruit flavors along with a good dose of red and black licorice. Yet, it's the texture that is most exciting about this wine with a slightly oily and at the same time unctuous mouth feel that glides across the palate with ease and aplomb. It is intended as a dessert wine, so it does show a sweet side, but there is enough balancing acidity to keep the wine from being overly cloying. A very well-made and very well priced Banyuls that pairs beautifully with fruit/berry focused desserts, it also drinks quite nicely on its own!
Blend: 90% Grenache, 10% Carignan.
