Founded in 1603 in the Tosa region, Tsukasabotan Brewing Company brews using subsoil water from the Niyodo River, a beautifully crystalline river that is well known in Japan. Ancient legend has it that sake brewed using this water was used as an offering to the gods. Throughout its long history, quality sake is something this brewery has always been about. When a nationwide rice shortage struck during World War II, Tsukasabotan chose to maintain quality by lowering production volume, a move that was well received and helped grow the company into a nationally renowned brand.

Senchu Hassaku translates as "eight principles, written onboard a ship." It refers to an important document that was signed on a ship off the coast of Shikoku. The document was drafted by Sakamoto Ryoma, a samurai activist from Kochi, and it played a significant role in the overthrow of the Shogunate, and the reinstatment of the Emperor, at the time of the Meiji Restoration. Tsukasabotan Senchu Hassaku is a dry sake crafted by a brewery renowned for its expertise in producing dry sakes for centuries. This sake offers a clean and round drinking experience with a sharp, satisfying finish. The creamy apple aroma and beautifully balanced body make it an excellent choice for those who appreciate dry sake. The rice, Yamadanishiki, for this Saké was polished to 57%, and it has an alcohol content of 15.6%. It also has a Saké Meter Value of +8, which means it is dry.
