A gin for those in the know, its name derives from the location of Martin Miller’s own residence in Westbourne Grove in London, where the brand was conceived. The Westbourne Strength gin was created as a response to requests by bartenders for a version of Martin Miller's original 40% ABV gin that would give a more ‘old school’ authenticity to their classic repertoire of cocktails and help them create more complex, fully flavored inventions. It is bright and soft, and has attractive, complex aromas of pepper and cassia. With its long, dry finish, this gin is ideal for all classic cocktails. The gin is pot-distilled in England with two different distillations of the botanicals plus a wheat-based neutral spirit. The first is distilled after macerating the spices and earthy roots. The second is distilled with just the citrus peels. These two are blended together before a cucumber distillation is added. The gin is finally brought down to proof with Icelandic water, which in this case is bottled at 45.2% ABV.
