Description
The Thanisch estate is currently in the hands of Sophia Thanisch, who is holding up the wine growing tradition in the 11th family generation. The focus is solely on Riesling from vineyards in Bernkastel, Mosel. Some of the vines are still original ungrafted rootstocks. The estate celebrated recently its 375th anniversary.
The Badstube “feinherb” is an off dry wine with a complex aroma of ripe apples white and yellow peaches and fresh pineapple. Clear and precise the wine shows a perfect juicy presence on the palate and a lovely balance of fruit and ripe acidity. A superbly long finish is characterized by fresh minerality.
