Our sourcing team here at Ferry Plaza tastes a lot of wine in the process of making selections for our shelves and wine bar. Even at a "trade tasting" where several hundred wines might be presented, the combination of deliciousness, character and value can truly stand out. That was our experience here with Michel Gay's 2019 Beaune-Grèves. Burgundy prices have soared in the last few years, especially for Premier Cru and Grand Cru bottlings—that and the bottle age, which has allowed the wine to develop additional complexity, make this a compelling value.
