Sun Moon Rising is a young, New York–based, astrology‑inspired wine brand founded by certified sommelier Kate Webb. Sun Moon Rising was conceived during Webb’s hospitality career in New York City, where she noticed an opportunity to link wine with astrology in a more personal way. She developed the idea of a full collection of wines built around the 12 Zodiac signs, with each wine styled to reflect the personality traits associated with that sign. Rather than owning its own estate vineyards, Sun Moon Rising partners with award‑winning, sustainable vineyards across New York State. Sun Moon Rising emphasizes low‑intervention, small‑batch, eco‑conscious production, using organic‑leaning practices, clean energy at partner sites, and collaborations with both experienced winemakers and professional astrologers. In September 2024 the brand officially launched nationwide as what it describes as the world’s first astrology‑inspired wine brand.
Sun Moon Rising’s Capricorn Bubbly White is a dry, aromatic sparkling white with a bright, fruit‑driven profile, made from Vidal Blanc grapes from the Finger Lakes AVA. For those who are unfamiliar, Vidal Blanc is a cold‑hardy hybrid grape widely used in New York for aromatic whites and sparkling wines. Tropical and floral aromas abound. On the palate it is refreshing and lively, with flavors of pineapple, guava and freesia notes emphasized by crisp acidity and light pét‑nat–style bubbles.
