One of the most widely known and appreciated Champagnes in the world, and always delicious! Bollinger owns 164 hectares of vineyards in Grand and Premier Cru villages in the Vallée de la Marne; planted predominately to Pinot Noir, with smaller quantities of Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. Although technically not an RM (as they also buy in fruit from other growers), Bollinger manages to produce a very consistent product, thanks in part to the 600,000 magnum bottles of reserve wine they have at their disposal.
The most widely distributed wine Champagne Bollinger produces is this Special Cuvée Brut which is a blend of 60% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Meunier, 85% of which comes from their Grand and Premier Cru vineyards.
Beautiful golden color with very fine bubbles. Beautiful aromatic complexity, with scents of roasted apples, apple compote and peaches. On the palate, a subtle combination of structure, length and vivacity with flavors of pear, brioche and notes of fresh walnut.
