Description

Maison Vincent Girardin, located in Meursault, is a benchmark for precision and purity in Burgundy winemaking. Founded in 1980 by Vincent Girardin—descended from a long line of winemakers dating back to the 17th century—the estate started with just two hectares of vines. The vines are located in the commune of Saint-Aubin just next to the “Murgers des Dents de Chien” climate. Limestone and a little clay. The subsoil is composed of different limestone layers (pebbles and marly soils).

The 2024 Vincent Girardin Saint-Aubin 1er Cru "en Remilly" reflects a vintage defined by its focus and classic Burgundian tension. On the nose, it offers an elegant bouquet of white orchard fruits—specifically crisp green apple and Bosc pear—intertwined with high-toned floral notes of acacia and a persistent, flinty minerality. The palate is characterized by a "vertical" energy, where vibrant, lemony acidity carries the wine through a medium-bodied frame. True to the Girardin style, the oak is impeccably integrated; the use of larger 500-liter barrels provides a subtle, toasted almond structure without overshadowing the wine’s natural saline and citrus core. The finish is remarkably clean and long, leaving a mouthwatering impression of crushed limestone and sea salt. This is a lean, sophisticated white Burgundy that prioritizes aromatic purity and terroir-driven transparency over sheer power.
