Description
Domaine Ligier in the Jura began as a small family winegrowing project: according to the domaine, a few family vineyards cultivated for pleasure eventually inspired the move into serious winemaking in 1986. Over time, the estate grew into a 10-hectare property centered on hillside vineyards in Arbois and nearby Jura communes, and in 2002 it built its own winery so the grapes could be vinified and aged on site. Today, the domaine is known for working with the region’s classic varieties—Chardonnay, Savagnin, Poulsard, Trousseau, and Pinot Noir—in a way that reflects the distinctive soils and traditions of the Jura.
The 2023 Poulsard was hand-harvested and vinified traditionally, spending 10-12 months in vats before bottling, resulting in a light ruby wine with pure, fruity structure. Currant, raspberry, and morello cherry flow across the palate—not power but food-friendliness, a uniquely versatile wine that sings alongside charcuterie and grilled preparations.
