Description
This rosé from Ameztoi is always one of the most intriguing pink wines of the spring rosé releases. Like its white counterpart, it is a blend of 50% each of the two indigenous varietals, Hondaribbi Zuri (a white grape) and Hondaribbi Beltza (a red grape), that go into making the majority of wines in the Getariako Txakolina DO in Spain's Basque Country. And because it's a traditional Txakoli, it has a refreshing bubbly spritz to it that makes it a very bright and lively wine.
Flavors of sweet strawberry and candied red fruits with a little lime zest feature on the light-to-medium bodied palate, while the wine ends with a clean, crisp and very dry finish. It has a lot going on texturally but is so well-balanced it makes perfect sense.
