The Blanc Fumé de Pouilly is Didier Dagueneau’s iconic wine, a true representation of the unique terroir of Pouilly-Fumé. Sourced from various plots across the appellation, this wine highlights the flinty soils that give Pouilly-Fumé its distinctive smoky character. Didier Dagueneau's dedication to biodynamic farming and minimal intervention winemaking is evident in this wine, as it captures the essence of the land and the varietal. The Blanc Fumé de Pouilly is known for its age-worthiness and complexity, making it one of the finest expressions of Sauvignon Blanc in the world. The wines are now produced by Louis-Benjamin Dagueneau, the son of the late Didier Dagueneau, along with his sister, Charlotte. Louis-Benjamin has been running the estate in Saint-Andelain, Loire Valley, since their father's death in 2008. The 2022 vintage displays notes of white grapefruit, quince, acacia honey, and crushed stone minerality with a rich yet focused structure.
