Description
Contrade is a product line of Masseria Li Veli started by the Falvo family in 2015, using high-quality Negroamaro, Malvasia, and Chardonnay grapes grown by a small group of local farmers. The wines are produced on-site, near their vineyards of origin, and then blended and bottled at Masseria Li Veli.
100% Negroamaro, one of the most representative red grapes of Salento is known for producing wines that are full-bodied, rich, elegant and with the typical soft tannins of the Italian “classics”. The word Negroamaro is a Latin-Greek blend which emphasizes the color of the grape: niger from Latin “black” and mavros from Greek “dark”. Intensely aromatic, you'll find jammy berry notes along with some black licorice and a hint of chocolate. Medium-bodied, this is an approachable red, highlighted by dark berry fruit flavors and smooth tannins. One wine we cannot keep in stock not only due to the $12 price tag but the value behind the brand.
