Description
Lafarge has two plots in Volnay on the way to Meursault, co-planted with Pinot Noir and Gamay. The vines are more than 90 years of age, planted on clay and limestone-rich soil, and are picked and fermented together: "a real Passetoutgrain", according to Frédéric Lafarge. An exuberantly fresh nose features notes of pepper and earth on the pretty red berry fruit aromas. There is excellent delineation and density to the highly energetic flavors that possess impressive complexity and persistence on the mildly rustic finale. Certified biodynamic.
