Description
The Mascarello family's 2020 'Toetto' Langhe Freisa is made from just half a hectare of vines in Castiglione Falletto. The Toetto vineyard has been in the Mascarello family since 1987. Part of this site has now been replanted to Nebbiolo, and that means that only 3,000 to 4,000 bottles of Friesa are produced each year.
Great care is taken in winemaking. Traditional-style, floating cap fermentation of selected estate-grown grapes for 15–20 days. The wine was matured in medium-sized Slovenian oak barrels for approximately 15 months.
