Description
This 2020 Napa Valley Merlot from Duckhorn Vineyards is a delicious blend of 80% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot sourced from both their estate vineyards as well as other top sites in Napa Valley. It was aged in 25% new and 75% one year old French oak barrels for 15 months so the vibrant red fruit flavors take center stage with more subtle accents from the oak aging showing on the supple, velvety finish that is the classic Duckhorn style.
Duckhorn is even more effusive about the end result, and describes the wine as follows, "Embodying the alluring beauty of great Napa Valley Merlot, this wine reveals vibrant aromas of red currant, ripe plum, black raspberry, cherry and sweet baking spices, with hints of tea leaves and cocoa.
