Description
The Soave appellation lies on the outskirts of the beautiful city of Verona, the historic Northern Italian town famous as the home of Romeo and Juliet; and more recently as the epicenter of the Italian wine industry during the annual VinItaly tasting event. This 2019 Soave Classico is 100% Garganega that was fermented in stainless steel and aged on its lees for four months before being bottled. The nose exhibits the classic nutty almond character that is most associated with Soave, and which also carries through to the medium-bodied palate. Flavors of yellow apple, under-ripe melon and pear join in the fun and lead to the easygoing and dry finish. This wine has nice length and a pleasant mouthfeel that make it just fine to drink on its own or paired with light seafood dishes.
