Description
Importer notes: "Feudo Montoni has been producing top-quality wines on its historic grounds since 1469, and is currently overseen by Fabio Sireci, the third generation of a family dedicated to producing the most refined expressions of this long-cultivated terroir.
The grape variety Inzolia is mostly gown in Sicily and is often used to make Marsala. This grape variety can produce some decent wines, and this is flat out stunning, it combines minerality and freshness with an exotic burst of fruit, and incredible length.
Fornelli is the name of the cru from which the grapes hail. The name has its origins in the ancient ovens, called “fornelli” where the clay present in the soil was cooked to create the amphorae for the local wines.
Straw yellow in color with light green reflections. The nose has floral notes of Sicilian Spanish broom flowers and chamomile, with aromas of pear, yellow melon and honey. On the palate, the acidity is well-balanced and has a persistent freshness, with a long finish and unique mineral notes."
