Description
Eins Zwei Zero Riesling is an alcohol-free version of the original wine: it’s grown, harvested, and fermented before undergoing delicate vacuum distillation to remove alcohol and preserve classic wine-like characteristics. A bit of residual sugar carries the flavor, yet the acidity offsets the sweetness and makes for a refreshing, clean white.
Known for being one of the finest wine producers in the country, Johannes Leitz made it his life’s work to bring the magic of Germany’s vineyards to the rest of the world in 1985. The family estate’s history is rich, dating all the way back to 1744 and marked by a restoration after the Second World War. Today, Weinguit Josef Leitz operates the estate under Johannes’ direction; they work to create optimal conditions and processes to serve and reflect the character of the ancient region’s grapes.
The Rheingau region is a picturesque, twenty-mile stretch marked by a change in the Rhein River on its journey from the Swiss Alps to the North Sea. With a stout commitment to harvesting the land as sustainably as possible, Johannes partners with the Ministry of Environment and focuses on working by hand where possible. From the terroir to the final taste, Leitz takes great care to bring the finest non-alcoholic wines to life.
