Description
One of the finest cooperatives in Alto Adige, Italy, the St. Michael-Eppan Winery is named after the village in which it is located. Founded in 1909, it has more than 350 members, all of whom share a commitment to ecological balance in their vineyards. In 2000, Gambero Rosso named St. Michael-Eppan as the best Italian winery of the year and its long-time winemaker Hans Terzer as one of the ten best winemakers in the world. Most of the fruit is sourced from vineyards located in the southern Tyrol: Appiano, Caldaro and Mazzon at elevations of 984-1,640 feet. Peaches, apricots, lemon curd, lychees and melons on the nose. Fruity and fresh with a medium body. Some delicious tropical-fruit character with a zesty finish.
