Description
Domaine Michel Gros traces its roots in Vosne-Romanée back to 1830, when the Gros family first began assembling vines in the Côte de Nuits, gradually building a reputation for elegant, terroir-driven Burgundy across generations. In 1978, sixth-generation vigneron Michel Gros created his own domaine while still working alongside his father, eventually inheriting key parcels—including the family’s monopole premier cru Vosne-Romanée Clos des Réas—when Jean Gros retired and divided the estate in the mid-1990s. Today the domaine farms roughly 22–23 hectares spanning Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Chambolle-Musigny, Morey-Saint-Denis, and a slice of Clos de Vougeot, marrying long-held family traditions with a thoughtful, quality-focused evolution now carried forward by Michel’s son, Pierre.
Intricate aromatics with lifted perfumed notes of red cherry, raspberry rock candy, and sweet strawberry fruit nuances. There's a gentle elegance, with a soft, supple mouthfeel and a sweet blue-black fruited intensity, beautifully tangy and polished. A lovely, elegant expression for earlier drinking.
