Like many popular Canadian-distilled whiskies that end up rebottled for the American market, Masterson’s Straight Rye Whiskey has done its darndest to not appear Canadian. The rye is grown in the verdant Pacific Northwest, and they choose only rye that exhibits the perfect combination of weight, plumpness and rich, earthy fragrance. They also use Rocky Mountain glacial water. The rye is aged in white oak for 10 years before being imported and bottled in California. Masterson’s is a 100% rye whiskey that far exceeds industry standards for rye whiskey. This is a pot-still whisky as well. These key characteristics, along with our meticulous distillation process, give Masterson’s its uniquely smooth taste. Masterson’s has a deep, golden color with floral nose that is complemented by aroma of woody spice and nutmeg. Notes of caramel, raisins, vanilla and chili flakes. Finish is long with robust notes of rye and cinnamon.
