Description
From the importer~ This Sauvignon Blanc is produced from selected vines grown planted from 1967-1980 on the silex soils of the 5-hectare lieu-dit – Les Belles Dames which is a south-southeast facing vineyard with a 20-30% grade at 235-265 meters above sea level on Sparnacien limestone and silex. After a mechanical harvest, the Sauvignon Blanc fermentation takes place in stainless steel tank at cool temperatures, and then spends another 9-10 months in stainless steel vat & neutral demi-muids.
Aromatics display a distinctive “Silex” or gunflint minerality, along with a multitude of citrus zest. The wine possesses mouth-wateringly ripe, zesty lime-lemon fruit flavors, finely pulverized stone, along with racy acidity and breathtaking delineation. This is an exceptionally elegant and harmonious Sancerre with lovely purity and a distinctive steely minerality.
