Description
The Southern Rhone Valley vineyards of Bosquet des Papes are, like many estates, spread out over the appellation; the terroir is rocks, stones, sand, and clay. In all, their vines are located in forty separate plots throughout Chateauneuf du Pape, and are "old vines", with an average age of 50 years. Bosquets des Papes Chateauneuf du Pape Tradition comes from a blend of about 75% Grenache and the rest Syrah and Mourvèdre, partially destemmed and brought up in a mix of demi-muid and foudre. Its deep ruby/purple color is followed by a deep, smoky, meaty bouquet that has beautiful fruit as well as loads of ground pepper nuances. It’s rich, medium to full-bodied, has no hard edges, and a great finish.
