Amayna is a newish label from the Garcés Silva family, pioneers in Chile's wine industry. The Sauvignon Blanc comes from vineyards located in the Leyda Valley, which lies between the Coastal Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. The soils are poor, and the weather is dry, with cool breezes funneling into the valley from the ocean. In the nose, it shows intensity with the expression of tropical fruits such as mango, pineapple and passion fruit. It is complimented by a soft citric sensation as well as spicy and floral notes, reminiscent of ginger and jasmine. In the mouth it shows a balanced acidity, viscosity and long complex finish.
