The story of Turley Wine Cellars begins with Larry Turley and his original business partner, John Williams, when they founded Frogs’ Leap Winery in 1981. After growing the business into a smashing success, Larry yearned for something a little more focused and wanted to concentrate his efforts on Zinfandel and Petite Sirah. Thus, Larry decided to sell his half of Frogs’ Leap to John and then founded Turley Wine Cellars in 1993. Over the next several years, Turley catapulted to the top of the California Zinfandel world by crafting exquisite and diverse Zinfandels and garnering legions of fans along the way. Today, Turley Wine Cellars produces very limited quantities of 28 different wines from 35 different vineyards, most of which are certified organic, or on their way to becoming certified. In addition to his amazingly popular Zinfandels, Larry has been making Petite Syrah from the majestic Hayne Vineyard in Napa Valley for years. It is one of his most prized wines, and also one of his most expensive, yet it’s worth every drop!
