From the producer: Michel Guignier is a fourth generation vigneron in Villié Morgon, in the heart of the AOC Morgon appellation in Beaujolais. Following in the footsteps of the famed “Gang of Four” in Morgon, Guignier is committed to producing wines in the most natural way possible in order to both protect the environment and create wines that are alive and transmit a sense of place. Deep, bright-rimmed magenta. An assertively perfumed bouquet evokes fresh red/blue fruits, incense and candied lavender. Smoky mineral and spice overtones build in the glass. Stains the palate with appealingly sweet black raspberry, boysenberry and floral pastille that show very good depth and a firming spine of juicy acidity. Fine-grained tannins lend grip to lingering blue fruit and floral notes on the impressively long finish.
