Clayey-sandy, composed of brown clay and grey sand of marine origin, with the presence of pebbles and small skeletal particles. These estate-grown grapes are harvested from 60/70-year-old vines with low yields then aged in Slavonian oak for eight to ten months. The vineyard is named so because its' shape is that of a shield. The Italian soccer championship is also called the Scudetto.
