From father to son through numerous generations, the Bouley family cultivates vineyards in Volnay. In 2002, Thomas joins the Domain and takes the management in 2012. The production is essentially in red wine, amongst the villages of Volnay, Pommard and Beaune, with the exception of one vineyard producing white wines, Bourgogne Aligoté, which is situated in the area of Meursault. They combine traditional methods and modern technology to produce concentrated wines, with good fruit, elegance and roundness which gives us pleasure while they are young and good potential for ageing. To express the mineral notes of soil and subsoil, the microbial activity is fundamental. For that purpose, the Bouley domain uses no herbicides or chemical fertilizers. All the vines are ploughed. A notably ripe and spicy nose exhibits notes of citrus, apple and a hint of the exotic. There is fine intensity and richness to the lightly mineral-inflected flavors that terminate in a clean, dry and saline finish. This is really quite good for what it is and a wine that would make for a great summer sipper
