We are pleased to be re-acquainted with the wines of Daniel Dampt et Fils, especially this wonderful, very well made Chablis we can case stack in our $25/Under section. Fermented and aged in stainless steel tank for seven months, this is a clean yet expressive Chardonnay with an attractive freshness and even keeled weight on the mid-palate. The wine ends with a good kick of minerality on the nicely dry finish. This is Chardonnay in is most pure, unadulterated form. We only wish more Chardonnays were just like it! The Dampt family's presence in Burgundy dates back 150 years and Daniel Dampt recently joined forces with his father-in-law, Jean Defaix which has expanded the estate to 30 hectares with 16 in AOC Chablis and 14 in the Premier Cru sites of Vaillons, Fourchaume, Cote de Lechet, Les Lys and Beauroy. Daniel's son, Vincent (et Fils) makes most of the wine these days and follows the traditions his long-time family line of vignerons established generations ago.
