Description

Cenatiempo means 'dinner time' in Italian and that makes perfect sense since this wine is perfect to enjoy at dinner time, or lunch time, or afternoon time, or....you get the idea. Cenatiempo is also the family name of the producer behind this neat bottle. It hails from the island of Ischia off the coast of Campania and is a blend of 40% Biancolella, 45% Forastera and 15% other local varieties such as Collionara and Biancolellone. It's a fascinating wine with a plethora of aromas and flavors ranging from dried herbs and wet stone to juicy stone fruit white peach and crunchy apple - all on a bed of zesty acidity. It's rather shocking that it's only $19 a bottle because there is a good amount of subtle complexity here. And, a lot of really hard work that winemaker Pasquale Cenatiempo puts into working his vines which range in altitude between 200-1,320 feet above sea level. He relishes the challenge and takes very good care of them, farming biodynamically and preserving healthy land for future generations of Cenatiempos
