The Paolo Bea Rosso De Veo is produced from the younger vines of Sagrantino that would well serve other Umbrian winemakers to craft a Montefalco Sagrantino but due to the high standards of the Bea family, are declassified as Umbria Rosso. The elegance of the 2016 vintage really emerges here, with a slow build of tannins as a reminder of Sagrantino’s power and agebility. The 2016 Rosso de Veo spent 38 days on its skins, and was bottled without fining or filtering, as always, after two years in steel and two years in Slavonian casks.
