The second wine of Cantenac Brown, the 2016 Brio de Cantenac is a solid, medium-bodied, elegant wine that’s very much in the style of the vintage with its elegant profile. Lots of Merlot-driven black cherry, violet, and tobacco notes flow to a medium-bodied 2016 that has light tannins and a clean, juicy finish. The quality of the wines owes nothing to chance, the nature of the plateau of Cantenac predominantly gritty produces some of the best wines in the world and is home to a large number of Crus Classés Margaux. This poor and generous land at the same time, deeply rooted vines and the know-how of the winemakers give racy, elegant wines of a perfect balance. Aware of the gift made to them, the Château Cantenac Brown team has a great responsibility, that of perpetuating this tradition of excellence. Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc give fine wines with intense bouquet, conducive to aging. Merlot complement the grape variety and bring color, richness and roundness.
