When we first saw this wine it was at the importer's tasting event, where it was one of a couple hundred wines from all over France. Yet, this delicious little Mourvedre blend (80% Mourvedre and 20% Syrah) from Minervois really stood out and was clearly one of the best values in the portfolio. We've run with it for a couple vintages now and it is one of our best values from the Rhone Valley. It's all about peppery spice aromas on top of the southern Rhone-ish scents of garrigue - both of which continue on the light-to-medium bodied palate with generous and deep red fruit flavors. It's a fresh, almost zesty wine that finishes with soft, silky tannins as well as a good amount of structure as well.
