Poderi Aldo Conterno is a Piedmont producer known for its wines from the best parcels of the Bussia vineyard in Monforte d'Alba. Aldo Conterno, who died in 2012, was regarded by many as the greatest of all Barolo winemakers. Perfumed and very bright with dried flowers, dark berries and a sandalwood undertone. This steady and elegant expression of Nebbiolo reveals dried blackberry, tar, licorice, smoke and white truffle. The wine's approach is broad and textured as it rolls over the palate. Some 6,000 bottles were produced.
