Poderi Aldo Conterno belongs to an elite group of historical Barolo producers who have truly shaped the history of winemaking in the Langhe. It may be a so-called entry level Barolo, but the 2015 Barolo Bussia definitely delivers the goods. Fruit is sourced from three separate points within the larger Bussia cru. These sites are characterized by clay soils with southeast exposures and approximately 25-year-old vines. Fresh and floral on the nose with muted scents. But on the palate there is serious complexity going on with loads of truffle, mud, tar, leather and sick dried fruit notes. Exquisite.
