The 2014 Krutz 'Magnolia' Cabernet Sauvignon was a runaway hit with our clientele but we were even more excited to get the 2014 as it is a vintage most consider even better than the superlative 2013! It follows in the 2013's footsteps with richly toned fruit with great balance. Aromas and flavors of blackberry, black cherry and black plum abound on the full bodied palate that is velvety textured and lush. The wine finishes with a touch of spice, a nice hint of black licorice and good balancing acidity. We are having trouble keeping the 2014 in stock as well.... Patrick Krutz founded Krutz Family Cellars in 2003 in Monterey, California, with the intention to make 60 cases of wine for his family and friends. His first release was so successful however that he's been growing ever since and currently produces 13 different wines. He makes mostly single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Malbec, Syrah and Chardonnay, as well as Tempranillo and this Zinfandel from his Magnolia Series. He is originally from Jackson, Mississippi and thus uses the Magnolia name after the Mississippi state flower and tree and as a symbol of his southern roots and way of life.
