Eric Hamacher founded Hamacher Wines in 1995 and has been making highly regarded and allocated Pinot Noir and Chardonnay ever since. He always holds his wines back for additional aging in the winery and to let the fruit settle before being released to the market. His style tends towards darker toned fruit with good minerality and balanced acidity on a medium to full body. His wines are serious and well put together -- not at all flashy - they are full of substance. Of this 2012 vintage, Eric says, "This darkly fruited wine with spicy, briary aromatics shows a full mouth remarkable for its balance of intensity and finesse. The sweet middle leads to a long finish of firm grain, ripe and soft tannins. Seamless and silky, this is a wine for lovers of texture and length.
