Description
Charbonneau Red is produced entirely from grapes grown in Walla Walla County. Nearly all of the cabernet sauvignon and merlot were grown by Charbonneau Vineyard. Charbonneau Vineyard is located in northwestern Walla Walla County, on a sandy bench of soil underlain by basalt overlooking the Snake River. The cabernet franc and petit verdot were grown at Woodward Canyon Estate Vineyard in the western Walla Walla Valley on east facing silt loam and basalt based soils. Yield from either vineyard is typically no more than two tons per acre. The nose is absolutely Charbonneau! The flavor profile expresses the character of the vineyards beautifully with subtle herb and tobacco nuances coupled with gorgeous complex fruit. This wine offers classic Left Bank character and elegance that truly entices. I am impressed that Charbonneau can have such a lovely expression of place. 41% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Franc, 12% Petit Verdot
