The Tokaj wine region has enjoyed great international renown from its earliest documented history dating back to the 1300s to centuries later when Tokaji Aszú became the prized delicacy of Kings and Emperors. Of the lusciously sweet elixir, King Louis XV of France once famously declared, "Vinum Regum, Rex Vinorum" or, "Wine of Kings, King of Wines." Tokaj was even the first wine region in the world to establish a vineyard classification in 1720, 135 years before the Bordeaux Classification of 1855. An intoxicating bouquet of beeswax, honeysuckle, freesia and shea butter leads the way for flavors of peach nectar, apricot preserves, citrus zest and orange blossom. This wine is truly exquisite on the palate, marked by a delicate balance of ongoing sweetness and lively acidity.
