Ardbeg is an iconic distillery from Islay, the land of storms, rough weather and wild waves. The name of Ardbeg comes from Gaelic An Àird Bheag, which means The Small Promontory.
Production started illegally in 1798 and became commercial in 1815 by the initiation of John McDougall. Unfortunately Ardbeg experienced a lot of takeovers and closure until 1997. In 1997 Glenmorangie Plc. bought the distillery and re-branded it. Finally in 2004 LVMH bought Glenmorangie Plc and magical days for Ardbeg started again.
Ardbeg 10 is the flagship expression of Ardbeg core range, exposing drinkers to massive peaty feeling with beautifully balanced vanilla and citrus notes. It feels like a bonfire squeezed in a well designed bottle. Moreover it is selected by Jim Murray as 2008 World Whisky of the Year!
A must try bottle for any Islay malt lovers over there!!
