This 2016 vintage of the Bisson Bianchetta Genovese is a little more quiet, in an appealing way, than in past years. It has more delicately toned flavors of citrus, think not quite bitter lemon and yellow grapefruit, and a light tropical note. The minerality, which typically takes center stage, is a bit dialed back and lets the fruit come through more clearly. Yet it is still a tasty, very refreshing wine with crisp acidity and a salty sea air quality that will make you want to pair it with seafood. Winemaker, Pierluigi Lugano recommends "the white-fleshed fish that frequent the shores of this part of Liguria … the bianchetti, the nasello and tiny, exquisitely flavored langostino."
