The Mariani brothers (Adam & Andrew) have deftly acquired legions of fans for their Scribe wines and because of that, we have a hard time keeping them in stock. Take this killer Carneros Chardonnay - it is currently being enjoyed with great zeal on our wine bar menu but even when it's not, its place on the Chardonnay shelf often goes empty from folks taking it to enjoy at home. This 2014 was fermented and aged in stainless steel and concrete tanks for five months before bottling - so there is absolutely no oak to get in the way of the deliciously bright citrus toned flavors and vibrant balancing acidity. There is some nice weight to the mid-palate but this is not a heavy or rich wine. It is fantastic on its own and will equally enjoy being paired with fresh oysters or anything from the ocean!
