Yet another fabulous Merlot from the folks at Pride Mountain Vineyards. The 2014 includes 12% of their estate Cabernet Sauvignon and was aged for 14 months in 40% new and 60% 1-5 year old French oak barrels. It's a beauty that shows the incredible quality of Pride's mountain grown fruit and the very generous vintage year of 2014! Pride is justifiably proud of this wine following the string of great Napa Valley vintages and describe it as follows, "intense ripe aromas of plum, berries, black tea and verbena all pour from the glass along with more subtle notes of truffle, baking spice, cumin and vanilla. In the mouth, the 2014 Merlot is super-ripe and expressive, with a luscious, fruit-driven dense mid-palate and tannins that are a case study for the descriptor “velvety.” The finish possesses length and power and a subtle minerality."
